The students will learn to draw a castle by using shapes. Several materials will be used in the project to familiarize the students with different media. In addition to the castle, we will add animals, knights, etc. with black sharpies and crayons using the castle handouts for reference.
The students will be introduced to the art related profession, Architect. They will learn that an architect must know about the needs of his/her clients. In the case of a castle, the architect must know such things as: 
How many cows are going to be inside the wall? Do we need a blacksmith shop? How many people will live in the castle? Keeping in mind the needs of the people using the building, the architect draws the plans.
